Sonya Parra is a British-Italian illustrator specialising in live event fashion illustration, live brand experiences, brand activations, product personalisation and experiential illustration.

She has worked professionally as a freelance illustrator since 2001, creating live artwork and illustration experiences for private events, corporate events, fashion events, product launches and brand campaigns.

Her work combines fashion illustration, reportage drawing and real-time observation, creating personalised artwork for guests while an event is taking place.

Over more than 25 years, her professional practice has extended beyond live event illustration into fine art, fashion, visualisation, editorial work, workshops and creative direction.

Sonya holds an MA Fine Art (Distinction) and has exhibited her artwork in galleries and public exhibitions, including New Walk Museum and Art Gallery in Leicester.

She has also worked as Director of 2D Visualisation for The Wombles Ltd, bringing senior visual-development experience to her wider illustration practice.

The Wombles

2020–2025

Illustration Director | The Wombles Ltd, London

From 2020 to 2024, Sonya worked as Illustration Director for The Wombles Ltd in London.

This role forms an important part of her professional visual-development background, alongside her freelance illustration and live event work.

Her experience therefore extends beyond drawing for events into 2D visualisation, character-based visual development and creative production.

Fashion Illustration & London Fashion Week

Sonya's fashion illustration career includes live work connected with London Fashion Week and major fashion and technology brands.

In 2014, she worked as a fashion illustrator during London Fashion Week, creating live digital fashion illustrations using a Samsung Note device.

Her wider fashion-related work includes live fashion portraits, event illustration and illustration created around fashion, retail and luxury brand experiences.

This experience forms part of her current specialism as a London live event fashion illustrator.

Brand Activations & Live Brand Experiences

A significant part of Sonya's career has involved creating artwork as part of live brand experiences.

Rather than producing artwork in isolation, her work is often integrated directly into an event, allowing guests to interact with an illustrator and receive a personalised artwork during the experience.

Her commercial experience includes work for brands across fashion, luxury retail, technology, hospitality, entertainment, finance, food and beverage and consumer products.

This has included live illustration, guest portraits, product personalisation, workshops and other participatory art experiences.

Product Personalisation

Sonya also creates live personalised artwork and product customisation experiences for events and brand campaigns.

Her approach allows illustration to become part of the guest experience, with artwork produced live and personalised for the individual.

This can be adapted to fashion, retail, product launches, corporate events, influencer events and experiential campaigns.
